Course Title: Introduction to Financial & Management Accounting
About the Course:
This course is an introduction to financial accounting and management accounting. It includes such topics as (1) an overview of the major financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, statement of stockholders� equity, and statement of cash flows; (2) financial statement analysis; (3) present and future value concepts; and (4) capital budgeting.
Instructor: Dr. Yan Bao, Frostburg State University
Dr. Bao, Yan is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Frostburg State University in Maryland. She received her Ph.D. in Accounting from Kent State University in 2004. She has 8 years of experience in the industry and academia. Her primary areas of interest are financial accounting and international accounting research, with an emphasis on value relevance of accounting information, information content of earnings, firm valuation and international standard setting.
